Sir Michael Pickard

Sir Michael Pickard was born in 1932, educated at Oundle School where he was Head Boy and then qualified as a Chartered Accountant with a firm that is now part of Price Waterhouse Coopers.

He did two years’ National Service as an officer with the Middlesex Regiment in Cyprus and was mentioned in despatches. He married Jane after leaving the Army in 1959 and they had a daughter and three sons: Belinda, William, Edward and George, and nine grandchildren. He was knighted in 1997.
